Submitting a Proposal
Step 1. Use information on this website
to assess whether your organization is eligible for funding
and whether the project in question fits the Foundation's
funding priorities.
Step 2. Obtain an application form by writing,
phoning, or sending an email message to the Foundation (see
below).
Step 3. Follow directions on the application
form carefully; it describes in detail what an organization
needs to submit. Deadlines for submitting an application
are as follows: February 1 for consideration at the spring
board
meeting and July 1 for consideration at the fall board meeting.
An organization may apply once in a twelve-month period.

The Review Process
In assessing requests for funding, the
Foundation considers the merits of a project, weighing the
needs identified and the potential of the project to address
those needs. The Foundation gives priority to projects that
accord closely with its funding priorities. It also favors
projects that are financially sustainable over time, or projects
that are potentially replicable. The Foundation is more likely
to fund projects that have financial support from more than
one source. Applicants are informed by mail of the Foundation's
decisions regarding their proposals early in May or November.
Please be advised that funding requests significantly outstrip
the Foundation's resources; as a result, many worthwhile projects
cannot be funded.
